About our watch straps
We use the world-famous Shell Cordovan, which is highly regarded as the finest leather. All our products are manufactured entirely by hand. Hand-cut, hand saddle stitched with traditional methods over hundreds of years old.
The edge
The sides of the leather are smoothed and hand-burnished for a polished look without any edge dye. If you want your strap dyed to a specific color or apply edge paint, please add a note in the Special Instructions box when you check out.
The thread
We only use linen thread, a traditional material regarded as the strongest natural fiber available. The default thread color is cream, off white color that complements all kinds of leatherwork and gives products a refined classic feeling. If you like a more modern and playful look, feel free to add a note in the Special Instructions box when you check out for custom made thread color. Color choices are on the final product picture.
The lining
We use renowned vegetable leather Buttero as your lining, which will age beautifully with your Shell Cordovan exterior.
Buckle and Apple Watch adapter
The strap is paired with a matte silver stainless steel Apple Watch adapter. If you want to switch your Apple Watch adapter to a spring bar please add a note in the special instructions box when you check out.
Other details
The strap comes with a fixed and floating leather keeper with matching color. They are detailed with a decorative line that runs along the edge of the strap and keepers.
About Shell Cordovan
Shell cordovan (or cordovan) is a vegetable-tanned, world-famous leather made of a specific layer of horsehide - "cordovan."
Shell cordovan is vastly regarded as the finest leather in the world because of its bright luster, non-creasing grain character, great leather smell, durability, and ability to develop and keep these characteristics over time.
One horse rump yields only two oval pieces of cordovan. Every shell has a unique shape and size.
Shell Cordovan is vegetable-tanned leather, which means it uses plant-based tannins, has little negative environmental impact.
Our Shell cordovan is sourced from prestigious tanneries in Tuscany and Japan to provide you with a full variety of color choices. Select a natural tone such as whiskey and burgundy or show some color with green or navy blue.
Before you order
Since leather is a natural product, each strap is one-of-a-kind — expect variation in markings, color, and patterns. Due to the handmade nature of the product, expect a small tolerance in length and thickness.
